🛡️ Player Protection

Responsible Gambling

Betting should be an enjoyable, controlled activity — not a source of stress or financial pressure. Betzo provides the tools and information you need to keep your play balanced and within healthy limits.

18+ Only — or the higher minimum required by the operator/license jurisdiction

⚠️ Gambling can be addictive. Please play responsibly. Local laws in Pakistan may restrict online gambling — verify legality in your area before participating.

Your Protection Tools

Every Betzo account comes with a full suite of responsible gambling controls — no need to call support, no waiting period to access them.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can deposit — in PKR or the currency of your account. Once a limit is active, it cannot be increased until the current period expires, giving you a genuine cooling-off window.

Loss Limits

A loss limit caps the total amount you can lose in a chosen time period. When the threshold is reached, your ability to place further bets is temporarily paused — automatically, with no manual intervention needed.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration and receive an on-screen alert when the limit is approaching. Once the session ends, you are automatically logged out — helping prevent extended, unplanned play sessions.

Cool-Off Periods

Need a short break? Apply a cool-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours, one week or one month. During a cool-off, your account is restricted from any betting activity — but you can still withdraw any remaining balance.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel that gambling is causing serious harm, self-exclusion lets you close your account for a minimum of six months up to five years or permanently. Once applied, self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the active period.

Marketing Opt-Out

Disable all promotional emails, SMS messages and bonus offers at any time from your account settings. Opting out of marketing does not affect your ability to use the platform or access any standard features.

What Does Responsible Gambling Mean?

Responsible gambling is the practice of betting within personal, financial and time boundaries that you have consciously set — and staying aware of how your gambling habits are developing over time. At Betzo, we believe that the majority of users who enjoy sports betting on Pakistan cricket, PSL T20 matches, ICC tournaments, football and UFC events do so safely and without issue. Our tools and resources exist for those moments when betting stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling like an obligation.

Online betting is widely accessible in many countries, but Pakistani users in particular should be aware that local legislation — including the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 — may restrict or prohibit online gambling activities. Betzo does not provide legal advice. We strongly encourage every user to verify the legal status of online gambling in their own city, whether that is Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan or Peshawar, before creating an account or placing a bet.

Responsible gambling is not a single action — it is an ongoing habit. It means reviewing your spending regularly, being honest with yourself about how gambling makes you feel, and using the account controls available to you before a situation becomes difficult to manage.

Important Notice: Betzo does not claim that online gambling is licensed, approved or regulated by the Government of Pakistan, PTA, the State Bank of Pakistan or any Pakistani financial institution. Users are solely responsible for understanding and complying with their local laws.

Adults Only — 18+ Strictly Enforced

Betzo is an adults-only platform. No person under the age of 18 — or under the higher minimum age required by the applicable operator licence jurisdiction — may register an account, deposit funds or place a bet. This is not a guideline; it is an absolute requirement.

Age verification is carried out as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process. Until KYC is satisfactorily completed, withdrawals are restricted and betting limits may apply. We take underage gambling extremely seriously. If you believe a minor has accessed or attempted to access a Betzo account, please notify us immediately at [email protected].

Protecting Young People in Your Home

If you share a device with younger family members, take these practical steps to prevent underage access:

  • Always log out of your Betzo account when stepping away from the device.
  • Never save your password in a browser that is accessible to children.
  • Enable parental control software on shared devices and family computers.
  • Keep your account login credentials completely private — do not share them with anyone.
  • Consider using a dedicated device for your betting account that is not shared with minors.

How to Set Your Responsible Gambling Limits

Setting limits is straightforward and takes less than two minutes. Here is the step-by-step process for activating any of Betzo's responsible gambling controls on your account:

1
Log In to Your Account

Access your Betzo account using your registered email and password. Two-factor authentication is available and recommended for added security.

2
Navigate to Account Settings

Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.

3
Open the Responsible Gambling Panel

Within Account Settings, find the "Responsible Gambling" or "Player Protection" tab — it is prominently displayed and never hidden behind multiple menus.

4
Choose Your Control Type

Select from Deposit Limit, Loss Limit, Session Time Limit, Cool-Off Period or Self-Exclusion. Each control type has its own clear description and confirmation step.

5
Set Your Parameters and Confirm

Enter the specific amount (in PKR where applicable) or time duration, choose the period (daily / weekly / monthly), and confirm. The limit takes effect immediately. Increases require a waiting period to take effect.

6
Contact Support for Self-Exclusion

For full self-exclusion, contact our support team directly at [email protected] or via 24/7 live chat. Self-exclusion is processed promptly and confirmed by email.

Instant Effect: All limit reductions and self-exclusion requests take effect immediately. Limit increases and limit removals have a mandatory cooling-off delay to prevent impulsive decisions made during play.

Recognising the Warning Signs

Problem gambling does not always announce itself clearly. It can develop gradually — a few extra bets here, a slightly larger deposit there — until it starts affecting your finances, your relationships and your wellbeing. The following warning signs may indicate that gambling is becoming harmful. Recognising them early is the first and most important step toward regaining control.

Spending more money on gambling than you originally planned or can afford to lose
Chasing losses — placing more bets to try to win back money you have already lost
Feeling irritable, anxious or restless when you are not able to gamble
Neglecting work, studies, family time or daily responsibilities because of gambling
Lying to friends or family about how much time or money you spend gambling
Borrowing money, selling assets or using essential funds (rent, bills, groceries) to gamble
Gambling as a way to escape stress, anxiety, depression or personal problems
Feeling unable to stop, reduce or control your gambling despite wanting to

If any of these signs apply to you, please stop, take a break and reach out. Use the self-exclusion tool, contact our support team, or speak to a trusted person in your life. Help is available and seeking it is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Quick Self-Assessment

Take a few moments to reflect honestly on the questions below. There are no right or wrong answers — this is a personal check-in, not a test. If you answer "yes" to three or more of these questions, we strongly encourage you to contact our support team or apply a limit or cool-off period to your account.

1

Have you ever spent more on gambling in a single session than you intended to when you sat down?

2

Do you find yourself thinking about gambling frequently, even during work, family events or everyday tasks?

3

Have you ever used funds that were set aside for essential expenses — such as rent, bills or groceries — to fund gambling?

4

Have you tried to cut back or stop gambling and found it genuinely difficult to follow through?

5

Has gambling caused arguments, tension or distance in your relationships with family or close friends?

6

Do you feel a sense of guilt, shame or regret after a gambling session, yet find yourself returning shortly after?

7

Have you kept the extent of your gambling activity — time spent, money lost — hidden from people close to you?

The Difference Between Recreational and Problem Gambling

Not all gambling is harmful. Millions of people around the world, including many fans of Pakistan cricket, PSL T20 and international sports tournaments, enjoy placing the occasional bet as a form of entertainment — much like buying a cinema ticket or attending a live match. Recreational gambling has some clear characteristics:

  • It is funded from disposable income — money that would not be missed if lost entirely.
  • It does not dominate your thoughts or daily schedule.
  • You can walk away without distress when you reach your pre-set limit.
  • Losing feels disappointing but does not create a compulsion to immediately chase the loss.
  • It enhances your enjoyment of sports events rather than replacing other interests.

Problem gambling, by contrast, begins to encroach on other areas of life. Bets become larger in an attempt to recreate a previous win or emotional high. Losses trigger urgency rather than reflection. Relationships, finances and mental health all suffer as gambling shifts from a hobby to a compulsion.

The line between recreational and problem gambling is not always obvious in the moment — which is precisely why Betzo's responsible gambling tools are designed to be set up in advance, not in the middle of a session. Setting limits when you are calm and thinking clearly is far more effective than trying to stop yourself when you are emotionally invested in a match or a game.

Key Facts to Remember
  • Gambling is for entertainment — never a way to make money or solve financial problems.
  • Every bet outcome is governed by chance. Past results do not predict future ones.
  • The house edge means the operator always holds a long-term mathematical advantage.
  • Only gamble with money you can genuinely afford to lose entirely.
  • Set your limits before you start your session, not mid-way through.
  • Take regular breaks — even during a winning streak.
